Wonder Years although originally envisioned and brought to life vicariously through many different phases and project names throughout 2018 to 2021, Kenneth's later teen years. Taking form as an EP originally titled Music From Midnight in late 2019, containing only 5 tracks. Then releasing a separate EP titled I.D. (identification) containing only 3 tracks, only a few months later in early 2020. Lacking confidence in his ability after criticism from his mother, he took both EP's down and stubbornly refused to share anything for years after.
Eventually taking shape as an LP in early 2024, Wonder Years released in late 2024, his first official project to be released in years.
The album cover art is designed completely by Kenneth, as are all the songs produced in their entirety by him. The cover art is intentionally pixelated to reflect the lofi grunginess of the songs, while the bright inverted color palette is reflective of the juxtaposition of that lofi grunge co-existing with glistening synth pop ideals that sit at the core of the album.
Wonder Years was chosen as a title because of the time period he wrote and produced this album, in his late teen years. Wonder years being a term attributed to the time period during ones coming of age, or maturing. The album moves through moods of sorrow, first loves, first heart-breaks, losing that childhood connection with his mother and father, and realizing the hard work, self discipline, and determination it takes to stand confidently on ones own two-feet.
